Actually, that "in between" is exactly what I'm waiting for: a tablet with no separate keyboard, about the size of a half-sheet of paper (5.5 x 8.5 inches), which would fit in the side pocket of my cargo shorts. There was a big to-do last year that many like that were about to hit the market, and silence ever since. They were called MID's for Mobile Internet Device. Apple will probably bring one out next year and everyone will gush over their innovation.
