Gotta give Bruce his props, Ray - certain TP's of mine have successfully taken to hd swaps, without the mergeide entry being added. My T23 & A31 are examples.
I cannot vouch for moving those drives into different manufacturers platforms. Dell - for sure will not, at least on a desktop drive move.
