Thanks for your suggestions. I tried the DOS route but could not find the
folder. In Windows Explorer, it is listed under My Computer as a System
folder. That could be a mitigating problem. Could not do anything with it
in Safe mode.

Also, I discovered that RRU is still installed on the machine (tried to
install TVR&R - failed) but I can not find hide nor hair of RRU to launch or
uninstall. Not in the Add/Remove Program listing. Search turns up nada.
Perplexing problem.

Will give Unlocker a try.

I might add, I removed the hidden Services partition, having been told that
is where the files in this folder are stored. That freed up 10GB of sorely
needed HD space, but did not delete the files or the folder. Seems most of
the Access IBM stuff is out of date, or not accessible.

The IBM Rapid Restore Ultra utility somehow got removed from my wife's T41,
but 2 backup files that it created are still on there. Seems the only way
to get rid of those humongous files is to reinstall RR and use it to delete
them. Problem is, I don't know what version of RR was installed on this T41
2373-IFU. All I can find on the Lenovo site is the current version of
ThinkVantage's RR, which replaced IBM RRU.

Does anyone know what that version Of IBM RRU was and from where I could
download a copy?

Alternatively, does anyone know of another way to delete these files and the
'Single File Restore folder that contains them?

I would try to boot into Safe Mode or to a Command Prompt to delete them.

And when my T43 was recently sent in for a repair (new LCD cover, the
latches had pooped out) my former IBM logoed lid was replaced with a
"Updated" ThinkPad logoed lid, no tri-color at all!!

BTW, Lenovo did a top notch job on repair, from the time of my call to the
time I received it back less than 96 hours elapsed!!
