I thought it was very strange too, my wife says it has even happened while she is typing. Searching at the lenovo forum, I found a discussion of this laptop shutting down spontaneously from overheating, and even one or two mentions of the laptop spontaneously sleeping. This model has one cooling fan, though lenovo sells the same model with an embedded cellular card that then comes with a second fan. l am going to make sure all her power management/bios/embedded controller drivers are all up to date and hope that it will help.

Can you try to boot a Live-Linux System and see if it happens there? She is definitely connected to the dock and AC Power. I have checked her power management settings and there are no profiles set up with sleep as one of the options. Could it actually be a failing battery causing this or is there some other place I should be looking. Thanks is advance.
