You could well be correct. I've got no baseline to compare things to
for the 'right' CPU temp. But at this point I have nothing more I can
really do to diagnose or fix things. The fan area has been cleaned and
I know it is running and speeds up as needed, so all I can do now is
wait to see if the lockup happens again.

I gotta agree with George -- I run TP on a variety of Thinkpads
and they average in the upper 30s (T20), lower 40s (T23 & 30)
mid to upper 40s (T42) and around 50 (Z61t), all Centigrade.
So I can't speak exactly to the T60s but it *does* seem high to me.
Unless those are actually Fahrenheit...
