MMC-1 goes up to PII 400MHz. Bruce is probably thinking of Pentium I's which do indeed have a max of 300MHz on an MMC-1 board. Some people find that the PII 400 runs a bit hot so the 600 and 770E/ED machines can run into heat issues. When purchasing, be sure not to get a Celeron 400MHz on an MMC-1 board, as those are different beasts and are not exchangeable with Pentium-based MMC-1 boards. By the way, the CPUs themselves that sit on the MMC-1 and MMC-2 daughterboards are not replaceable (except by skilled professionals with cool tools).
