<My Huawei E160 modem is recognized only when inserted into the lower USB socket on my T43 running WXP SP3, not the upper socket. Is this normal? If so why? If not, what should I do?

I am no expert but I have had similar experiences with a T43 (2687-D4U), first one USB port and then the then would become quite particular about responding to different devices. Sometime re-inserting would get it to go, or not.

I was still under warranty and sent it back to Lenovo, two days later I had it back with a new motherboard and no problem. It was diagnosed as the Southbridge going... south!
