Disassembly is no worry - I've taken a T60p down to the point of replacing
the CPU, fan, and heat assembly - but I didn't know if it was soldered on
(and for some reason couldn't easily find the service manual).

I'll take a poke around for the service part number and go from there -
thanks to you and George!

The X201 jack is not soldered to the motherboard, and is an inexpensive part
(see ebay), but some disassembly is inevitable. I don't know whether one
needs to go as deeplyinto the machine for this as on earlier series. (For
example, you probably won't have to remove the hinges, as one did with the
T40 series.) Check the service manual.

Subject: [Thinkpad] X201 with loose AC plug?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can easily replace the AC plug port on an X201
without soldering or without removing the motherboard?

Thanks!

Randy
