I need Michael Lum's fix to run make check; and there are some issues
with installing perl5 bindings to PERL_PREFIX.

Regardless: +1. The Haskell bindings work, I can get the whole thing
to 'make check' on my (Mac OS X 10.6; amd64) machines:
