I switched over one of our projects over to 0.5.0rc this evening and
it seems to be working so far :)

One thing that I think is different - I used to be able to just do
--without-php, but now I also need --without-php_extension in order to
compile.
Also, python doesn't seem to respect the --prefix option.

But neither of those seems a blocker.
