I'm not sure I see a consensus yet -- there may be an underlying concern by some for making Java a dependency. I would certainly echo that concern. While developer productivity is important, I believe that keeping user friction low should also be a major consideration. I'm doing some legwork to investigate options in the Python realm. If the Java pill ends up being acceptable, I would assume ANTLR would be considered, in addition to JavaCC. I've worked extensively with JavaCC and, while I've found it pretty straight forward, I've heard from others that ANTLR offers a very productive toolset. I can't speak from personal experience, however. Garrett
