I am not able to use the Debian packages (using ubuntu 10.04 64bit).
I think it is an issue with the 64 bit architecture.

I have made some thrift packages, available here:
http://www.bufferoverflow.ch/drupal/thrift-debian
based on the patches provided here:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-71
my plan is to use the debian stuff provided by:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=524135
and create a new patch for Thrift, so that the Thrift project is able to
provide debian packages for each release similar to the
thrift-compiler for Windows.

Quoting Abhishek Kona <[email protected]>:
I am trying to update thrift to 0.4. I have thrift 0.2 installed on
my system. I have downloaded thrift 0.40 and installed it (bootstrap,
configure, make, make install). But still the thrift version is 0.20
on my system. Any suggestions how to update my thrift.
Also are there any plans of including Thrift in Ubuntu repositories.
