The screenshot wasn't FreeBSD, but HAL on Linux. On FreeBSD it updates on the fly, like it does with Linux/HAL. But on Linux/HAL, Thunar relies on the HAL daemon to provide notification about the changes. Can you try with hal-device-manager and see if HAL actually notices the changes? > However, thanks for making it work. It's so nice to use an SVN version. > Yo'av.
