Right. gvms job is to watch out for new volumes and try to mount them as
new volumes appear. This will be handled by Thunar (or a simple tool) in
a cross-platform way.

Install Gamin (and don't forget the devel package) to add support to
Thunar for monitoring the file system.

Install HAL (esp. hal-storage devel package) and D-BUS (esp. the
dbus-glib devel package) to add support for removable volumes.
