Which I think is idiotic and ugly as hell, but what do I know...?

Ok, I understand the rationale of not scrolling the view so the user
doesn't have to take a second to re-figure out where the remaining items
are on the screen, but still... give people some credit, and at least
pay some small attention to the aesthetics of the situation.
