It is necessary that you are using the "All new Mail" option of Yahoo on the Web to make the extensions work.
If, on the Yahoo Mail Web page you see the word "Classic" under the "Mail" of the Yahoo Mail logo then you need to select the "All New Mail" option in the upper right of the mail screen.
