Same with my MailDotCom accounts.

MailDotCom have changed their UI lately, maybe that is the reason.
Unfortunately Webmail doesn't show an error message so it took me a
few days until I've realised that Thunderbird isn't connecting
correctly with MailDotCom.

I think an update will fix the problem.
