Hi there, I've chose to post in this thread instead of starting a new one, since my issue is similar.
That is to say, I keep getting the: "Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server localhost responded: Comms Error from [email protected]" message when I try getting messages for both my Mail.com accounts. Logging in on the site manually works well for both accounts. This has been going on for a couple of months (but since I wasn't getting much email on those accounts I didn't give it that much priority) and survived at least a couple of updates of the Webmail extension, of the AOL one and of Thunderbird itself. The Error console shows this messages after trying to manually get the messages for both accounts: "my.screenname.aol.com : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555 AOLPOP.js: loginHandler : Exception : TypeError. Error message: szResponse.match(kPatternSettings) is null 304 DebugLog.js : Exception in WriteToFile NS_ERROR_FAILURE. Error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIFileOutputStream.init]" I hope that perhaps you can help me solve this issue. I'm not sure how to send you the log files. Is there an option to upload them somewhere or an email address where I should send them? I haven't used groups extensively so if the modality is very obvious and I missed it, I apologize.
