I tried this also, using Romania, without success. FWIW, Yahoo detects where your IP is located.

POP needs to be enabled from your yahoo account, the problem is that not all the yahoo servers across the world provide this option for free...what u can do is go to your profile page and set your default yahoo server to one that has this feature unlocked (for example i have Romania,)...after setting this you should log off and sign in again and enter your mail page...and in the options section you will now find POP unlocked... the default settings for TB are very standard.... you just have to set the correct POP and SMTP adress and port in TB and your good to go ! ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Really? ...I tried about 2 hours ago, and POP isn't
working for my free (not PLUS) Yahoo email account.
I did try all possible setup and wasn't able connect
to yahoo email.
IMAP in TB is works fine with Yahoo.

Either you're very technical, and know what this article means, or
you're pulling my leg.

I was just asking at a user level, is there some reason not to just
use IMAP now in Thunderbird for Yahoo, and not need WebMail add-ons?
