Did your account still show that you had set Romania as your regional
setting?

I am here on the west coast of the US. Over a year ago I set my
region to Yahoo Asia which allowed me to enable POP and use the POP/
SMTP servers of
Yahoo without problem. I only use the POP server to receive mail when
a problem occurs with the Yahoo Webmail add-on; I use the Yahoo
Webmail add-on since it allows me to collect mail in Thunderbird from
both the Inbox and the Junk folder in one simple connection. I always
use the Yahoo SMTP server that is now available to me since it
provides enhanced capabilities over those available using the Webmail
add-on (in line attachments being the clearest advantage).
