Hi, This is not a new problem, but it annoys me more & more, so I'll post it now :-)
If I startup TBird in SafeMode, it opens almost instantly. With WebMail(+hotmail plugin), it takes a long time for TBird to get to display the inbox (or indeed to display anything useful until 37secs after launch!), and is not always very responsive thereafter. This happens on Windows & Ubuntu, and webmail+hotmail are the *only* active addons in Windows (on Ubuntu there are some default ones like Unity too). I guess it is Webmail starting the comms services in the background, perhaps? Is there some way to speed TBird's startup, e.g. by delaying the Webmail services servers until TBird is started and responsive? Version info: TBird 8; latest webmail & hotmail; Windows 7 & Ubuntu 11.10 Any clues? Many thanks.
