What is emerging is that it is perhaps time to ditch yahoo.com for email.

It used to be really good, before the not too intelligent idea of charging 
for POP access only for the .com address.
     As some other poster said yahoo.uk allows POP access as do other yahoo 
domains.
    This just does not make sense.

We can't blame or even expect webmail developers to keep up with the very 
frequent / random changes yahoo makes to its login process.

It would be best for yahoo if it realizes the folly of charging for POP 
access only on yahoo.com and keep in line with outlook.com, gmail.com etc. 
and compete on features, which it has shown it is quite capable of doing, 
atleast in the past.
