 Same problem for me, running the following
 Fedora 9
 Linux server 2.6.26.6-79.fc9.i686 #1 SMP Fri Oct 17 14:52:14 EDT 2008 i686
 PHP 5.2.6
 Apache/2.2.9 (Fedora)
 memory_limit = 32M
 CakePHP 1.2.0.7692 RC3

 I get a huge dump in my error log, here it is truncated:
