 PS: Fixing this bug, that it works as documented, is only one line.

 After extract($config); line 233 add
 {{{
 $thisDuration = $duration;
 }}}

 You have mentioned, that you dont do the same for cache read, but why does
 cache read needs the duration as parameter? All CacheEngines store the
 duration in a special field (in the engine) and compare this to the
 current time.
