 You can already do this, by using the Router.  The '?' exists for this
 very reason. Also there would need to be some clarification as to which
 params are 'rewritten' and which are not.

 There also seems to be quite a bit of disagreement in the comments of the
 linked google blog article.  If you have concerns related to duplicate
 content being indexed you can always use
 [http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/02/specify-your-
 canonical.html canonical link elements] to specify the primary link.
