Hi,

The current draft *-tictoc-1588overmpls-00 suggests that we can use P2MP LSPs
for shipping 1588 packets over MPLS. This would entail setting up
Unidirectional PTP LSPs back to the source since bidirectional LSPs are
required for 1588. Since the two LSPs (the P2MP and the reverse PTP) would be
set up separately the onus lies on the administrator to ensure that they are
co-routed. This is extremely difficult unless the user explicitly sets up
static MPLS paths.

I have co-authored a draft with Lizhong and Frederic that we believe can solve
this problem. It provides a unicast co-routed path back from the leaves to the
root

You can quickly go through the following link to understand what it does at a
very top level:
http://routingfreak.wordpress.com/2011/02/27/hub-and-spoke-multi-point-lsps-for-scalable-vpls-architecture/

Later, you can go through the actual draft to understand how it works:
http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-jjb-mpls-rsvp-te-hsmp-lsp-00

Would be great if the WG can look at this and provide their comments.

Cheers, Manav
