Personally I found more pleasure in the LatexMathMLPlugin http://www.math.ist.utl.pt/~psoares/addons.html
There's only 1 caveat, and that it only works on firefox (or at least it doesn't work on IE). I believe the math plugin you are referring to needs to be on-line...
