Ok, I have found a workaround for this import problem meantime: If I put a "?" at the end of my import url then the effect of the extra "/" added by TiddlyWiki is negated, the web page is delivered and the Tiddler list appears.
So the import urls I could use are A) http://mydomain.com/~j2fm/wiki/www/index.html? B) http://mydomain.com/~j2fm/TWindex.html? or C) http://mydomain.com/~j2fm/ Presumably there will be a permanent fix to this soon.
