Are you talking about automatic saving via TiddlyWeb, or just the
regular local 'save changes' command?  Please elaborate on *exactly*
what happens when "the file can no longer be saved"...

How do you know that the file wasn't saved?
Does an actual error occur and, if so, what is the precise text of the
message(s) that were displayed (if any)?
