Mario Freeplane I mentioned is the Sucessor to freemind. I believe it also has xml output. However both are java script solutions I used to dream about someone brining it into tiddlywiki. Probably too much work, any way I think tiddlymap dominates this space. Not that I have worked tiddlymap out myself.
A graphical mind map as easy as these apps would be nice. Recent developments like Saq's outline bullets, yet to be published will help in a textual way.
