Yea, TW has a steep learning curve, but it's worth it. As I did the video for field-search, I saw that there may be some problems, if you want to have your own fields. You are right, it needs quite some internal knowledge to replicate a "custom" field search tab. ... At the moment I'm creating a new version, which will have a configuration option, that should make it much easier to use your own fields and create your own new tabs.
