Hi TiddlyWiki community, As Jeremy said, Polecat (http://www.polecat.co) is currently part of an EU project attempting to investigate on-line communities (http:// robust-project.eu/). Further details are at the end of the email. TiddlyWiki is one of a number of communities that is being used by the project partners, chosen in part due its vibrancy and consistent output.
Needless to say, we were very grateful to Jeremy for allowing us access to the TiddlyWiki data and appreciate its sensitivity. We take the anonymity of community users extremely seriously, and will change the document to remove the latter section of the email addresses. We would also welcome any questions, feedback, or even participation from TiddlyWiki members. This is an EU project, so all resultant software will be open source! if you are concerned, or have any further question, please feel free to email me: toby at polecat dot co. Toby Mostyn Polecat CTO Our work package is specifically looking at community health from three points of view: 1) Structural indicators (how many members, how frequent is participation, community churn etc) 2) Behavioural indicators (what can we learn from reply structures, participation patterns etc) 3) Linguistic indicators The report that you saw was an interim report on some of the linguistic classification we ran trying to identify different user types automatically. We have been working closely with DERI (http:// www.deri.ie/) on this, and they have been using some graph analysis on reply structures to profile interaction patterns. In October, we are creating a graphic equalizer that will visualise the health of a community over time (eventually in real time, but initially over retrospective data). We intend to take algorithms from a number of Robust partners and use them to query the TiddlyWiki data. Once this is complete, Polecat would be happy to make this available to the community. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
