The following procedure worked for me:
- *downgrade* Firefox to previous version (I have tried with FF 14)
- upgrade TiddlyWiki document to more recent version using procedure: How 
to upgrade TWClassic 
"manually"<https://groups.google.com/d/topic/tiddlywiki/IZLKHHfewh4/discussion> 
 

- install TiddlyFox 
plugin<https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tiddlyfox/>
- upgrade Firefox again to version 17 or above

>From now on TiddlyFox will ask for confirmation every time you open your 
TiddlyWiki document, but at least you will be able to save your changes.
