That'll require quite a bit more individualized CSS work.

To get a gap to let the Background shine through you'll need to remove the 
background settings from the #contentWrapper and apply it to 
everything individuality. Which may be a littler more time consuming than 
it sounds (At least in order to keep the current look it'll require a lot 
of extra margin/padding work to be done.)

Then the gap can be made simply by adding a margin-bottom value to the 
.tiddler class.
