Thanks for all the replies. For my Fedora environment, the most "convenience" way to get 3 backticks are *6 times the backtick key* (without SHIFT). This sequence will give me 3 backticks.
But I agree with Jeremy, that the general solution would be, that TiddlyWiki would provide some keyboard macros. As an alternative, I can change the the regex to any sequence i like.
