thank you very much, I found his site previously but I didn't really read it until now, great help, thanks. My question however was a little bit more targeted as to how widget should interact with other widgets in the grand scheme of things, because there is often more than one way of doing it. Take for example the Unix toolchain. All of those tools have a very well defined way of interacting with one another and thats why people like linux terminals, because most of the stuff can be combined pretty easily.
