I realized it was in the template, thanks. But in your previous version, <$view field=title/> produced the title of the tab and now it doesn't. In case it's helpful to anyone else, after experimenting, I found that I could use <<currentTab>> instead of <$view field-title/> in the first line of $:/.tb/templates/tab/xlist/topic so that instead of:
