I just had a chance to test it on an ipad and you're right - doesn't work. What happens is that the shade remains hidden behind the title. It is located there all along but in safari it apparently doesn't jump down to the right position when sticky is activated for the title. I played around with different css number values (top/margin-top and height) and it does work - but I didn't have a chance to perfect it. Anyone feel free to experiment. Regardless, I assume that if one makes it look good in Safari then it won't look good in chrome so it is apparently not a general solution.
