I don't know if this is unique to me, but Chrome (68.0.3440.106) has just started blocking the twitter plugin for tweet expansion.
According to devtols, error seems to be in the download of https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js which is being blocked by the client! Perhaps this is due to Google's continuing tightening up of security. I haven't found a workaround yet.
