I have noticed that many of the backstage tools don't seem to work well using Google Chrome. Specifically import, tweak and upgrade.
I am using TiddlyWiki base v2.6.4. Google Chrome v15.0.874.24 beta-m. Backstage tools seem to work on Firefox v3.6.16.
