Joe. FYI I don't use node raw. I use BOB.exe which is basically node wrapped down to TW needs. Its rather good for anything where you need automation on button press.
Regarding doing an XML switcheroo I think Jeremy's https://tiddlywiki.com/prerelease/editions/xlsx-utils/ is well worth a look. Its best when you have a standardised structure. J.
