I have some Debian machines that I built to be AS/400 "smart" terminals (they replace Win9x machines doing the same thing.) I would like to be able to VNC into the local console in case of a problem, so I don't have to get up and go to the physical machine. Some of these machines are in another city connected via a point-to-point VPN.
How do I set it up so that x11VNC is always running and accepting connections? I don't really want to hack init scripts, etc. if I don't have to. If that's the only way, I may just say "forget it." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ EditLive Enterprise is the world's most technically advanced content authoring tool.
