I'm looking for opinions and/or first hand experience.

I have an HP-5060A which has been running now for
about one year on a "used tube" that I picked up from
Corby Dawson. The beam current has been very steady
after initial power up. The unit runs 24/7.

My question is: Should I bother switching to the
low temperature mode to extend the tube life or just
let it run as is? (I know the noise for certain
measurement periods would increase in low-mode)

Anybody have a feel for what possible extension
in tube life can be had from the low-temp mode?

Thanks in advance,
Brian, WA1ZMS
