Fellow clock-tickers,

I'm delving into the secrets of my Odetics 325 in an effort to
understand if the GPS receiver can be replaced with something a little more
modern than the Magellan OEM 5000. In the course of this investigation, I have
discovered that the receiver, on one of its ports (the aux port), is putting
out Magellan ASCII strings prefixed with $PMGLK.

The main port, though it is putting out data at 9600 baud, appears to
be putting out 7-bit binary data (I'm assuming that this would be Magellan
binary).

On the sending side, the Odetics sends a series of commands to the
receiver at power-up, all prefixed with $PMGLI. I've not been able to find any
data on these strings at all.

Can anyone help with a message list, and/or details on Magellan binary
protocol?

        Please advise. Thanks much.
