Henk If the real part of the impedance (at resonance) at the base of the oscillator transistor is high this will significantly increase the real part of the impedance at the emitter of the oscillator transistor seen by the crystal thus decreasing its loaded Q. The real part of the impedance of the tuned circuit at the oscillator base is likely to be quite high (several kohm) at resonance and depending on the transformer turns ratio the real part of the impedance seen by the base of the oscillator transistor may also be significant.
