Whether or not the rate of atomic clocks may be affected by a solar eclipse is 
a controversial matter.
NATURE magazine published the article "Chronometry: Effect of the 1999 solar 
eclipse on atomic clocks",

On February 7 we will have a solar eclipse, a good opportunity to make tests, 
no matter whether 
or not you are in the eclipse path.

Another thing to test is whether or not, around eclipse time, crystal 
oscillators are more prone to jump.
