Bob, everything you need for the Z3805 is included in my Z38XX utility, that has already been mentioned. This includes sending commands to the receiver, you do not need another terminal program. I own a Z3805 myself and basically I have written the software for myself. A Z3801 manual in conjunction with Z38XX should take you pretty far in either get it to run or otherwise diagnose a fault.
