What your saying is that it is a form of selective blindness where the brain filters out an item it does not want to see but if your looking for something specifically, I wonder why this happens. I have experienced this many times, I try to find something that I had just a moment ago and cannot find it until it suddenly appears, as if by magic, right in front of me and was there all the time.
