The accuracy of 32 kHz-based quartz wristwatches with analog hands can easily be measured with magnetic pick-up. Even if the 32 kHz acoustic or EM field is too low to sense, the tiny 1 Hz stepper motor creates a large sharp spike, which is much easier to detect.
