I'm also using a "MaxRad/Lucent" but got 40dB's ... 
But watch out (too much gain can also be bad) , i use it with a N-to-F 
adapter , and 30m of quad shielded 75ohm-Coax. 

I made sure i got the "Tube/pipe mount kit along" ... See 290975411221 (ok
